Fraser Smith
swing post-bop
Influences: Coleman Hawkins, Stan Getz, Ben Webster
Birmingham-born tenor saxophonist Fraser Smith channels the sound of the great American tenor men from the swing era through the 1960s. Nonchalantly confident and hard-swinging, he draws on the language of Kansas City swing and straight-ahead jazz, bringing two decades of reputation on the UK scene to a rare quartet completed by Bill Evans Trio bassist Chuck Israels, guitarist Jonas Metsakyla, and drummer Steve Brown.
Personnel:
Fraser Smith (tenor saxophone)
