The Score
hip-hop jazz soul jazz
Influences: Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean
A full live band performs The Fugees' landmark 1996 album The Score in its entirety, blending hip-hop with soul, doo-wop, reggae and neo-soul arrangements. This album pioneered the fusion of soulful musicality with hard-hitting rap that defined the mid-90s neo-soul movement, and a live ensemble interpretation captures the richness of material like "Killing Me Softly" and "Ready or Not" with acoustic and orchestral backing.
