Ben Crosland is a bassist, composer and bandleader who has shaped the British jazz scene since the 1980s through sideman work with world-class musicians and his own original compositions. His two volumes of the Ray Davies Songbook reimagine Kinks classics with sophisticated jazz sensibilities, while his broader catalogue balances melodic immediacy with inventive harmonic and rhythmic exploration. Tonight's celebration brings together a stellar ensemble including guitarist John Etheridge, saxophonist Theo Travis, and trumpeter Steve Waterman to revisit his finest works.
