Mornington Lockett is a saxophonist and composer whose fluent, creative post-bop playing has made him a cornerstone of the UK jazz scene for over three decades. The first person in Britain to earn a degree qualification in jazz saxophone, he brings world-class technical mastery and improvisational sophistication to everything from his collaborative work with Stan Tracey to his acclaimed New Jazz Couriers partnership. Tonight's quintet features trumpeter Alistair Martin, bassist Laurence Cottle, pianist Ross Stanley, and drummer Sophie Alloway—a lineup built for serious modern jazz conversation.
