London-based vocalist Evelyn Axton fuses jazz harmony with folk songwriting, delivering songs rooted in nature and narrative poetry with vulnerable, expressive phrasing. Performing her debut EP 'The Birds' with a full band and string quartet, she brings lapsteel, bass clarinet, and lush orchestration to bear on compositions shaped by the jazz tradition and influences ranging from Joni Mitchell to Chet Baker.
